Welcome to Flourish at Home!

Moms at home are often exhausted, overloaded, and hovering on the brink of burnout. It’s easy to be paralyzed by focusing on everything we can’t do and to become trapped in a crisis-management approach to life. False guilt only adds to the burden.

In 21 years of mothering (the last 12 as a single mom), homeschooling, and running a home business, I’ve found a lot of  practical ways to trade in the juggling act for a more peaceful, balanced life. I’m definitely not Supermom though—I’ve personally test-driven a lot of mistakes so you don’t have to. I’m going to tell it to you straight—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

My hope for this blog is to offer encouragement, inspiration, and practical strategies to help you flourish at home!

  1. Your blog is gorgeous but more importantly – knowing you – it will become a valuable resource for SAHM, WAHM, and homeschooling moms everywhere! May God bless your efforts, my friend. Maggie

  2. Thanks for sharing on UHSE/Transformation Expo. It was good to get some new ideas to use for implementation in our home.

  3. Thanks so much. I never seemed to get this home-keeping and organizing down. Every time I commit to slow down and do less, more seems to be added to my plate. I am getting really good at procrastinating, though. Lately I am just overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done all the time.

  4. My biggest challenge is balancing homeschool and my own studies (I am in my last year of my doctoral studies). When I have our schooling running smoothly, the house seems out of control. Yet, when I get the house under control, it seems to be at the expense of either the children’s education or my own.

  5. My biggest challenge is balancing working from home to pay the bills, working on the house, and getting out to fill my need to interact with other adults.
I LOVE the flexibility of working from home, but it’s also hard because I am SO social. Some days I feel like I’m going stir crazy!
