About Mary Jo

I am blessed with four wonderful sons and have been educating them at home since 1997. I am not Supermom, but in 21 years of mothering (the last 12 as a single mom), I’ve found a lot of  practical ways to trade in the juggling act for a more peaceful, balanced life. I’ve also personally test-driven a lot of mistakes so you don’t have to!

I’ve had my own business as an international editor and book coach since 1986, and I specialize in helping entrepreneurs, speakers, and other experts author a book . . . whether or not they can write (www.WriteAGreatBook.com).

Apologia will be publishing my latest book, Flourish: Balance for Homeschool Moms, this year. My other publications include How Do You Do It All? Balancing Family Life and Home Business in the Real World (www.HowDoYouDoItAll.com), Get Started as a Freelance Editor (www.EditingBusiness.com), and Critical Companion to F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I enjoy speaking at homeschool, business, and writing conferences and teleseminars. My topics include balancing family life and home business in the real world, single-parent homeschooling (www.SingleParentsAtHome.com), a passion for books and building a home library (www.EclecticBibliophile.com), building a writing or editing business, essential strategies for polishing your writing, and writing a book to build your business as an expert or coach.

My hope for this blog is to offer encouragement, inspiration, and practical strategies to help you flourish at home!
